10th Anniversary

It was Open House at Baydale earlier this week as we celebrated our 10th anniversary with a garden party. The weather was perfect, not a cloud in sight, and the attendees ranged from existing and past children and young people to staff, family and friends who all wanted to share this milestone and reminisce. Adorned in bunting, the house and gardens made the perfect backdrop for this event. That’s not all, the event also included a magician, ball games, candy floss and ice cream in abundance!

The event was also the perfect platform to pay tribute to one member of staff, Jonathan Dent, who has been with us at the home since the day it first opened its doors. We thanked Jonathan for his continued commitment as well as the care and support he offers to all the young people and staff at Baydale House.

Quality residential care

Registered Manager Jayne Bogan and the Acorn Care team based at Baydale provide continuous, Ofsted rated Good, high quality residential care that’s dedicated to improving the lives of the young people placed with them. Jayne stated: “We can see many of the children and young people we currently have on placement here are thoroughly enjoying the day and the celebrations, and they are alongside some of the children and young people that we’ve looked after in the past who still come to visit us on a regular basis. Chatting to them, you can hear that they still regard this as home. And that is exactly how we would want it to be.”

Here’s to the next 10 years

Our thanks are extended to all the social workers, managers of other local residential homes and commissioners (some of who were able to join us on the day) who have supported us over the years. We would also like to thank everyone who attended. You made the event the perfect end to our first ten years and the perfect beginning for our next ten!
